Cardinal twins, a pair of male red birds.  This painting features two cardinals facing each other like a mirror image.  Their intense crimson and red-orange tones stand out from the intricate background design of metallic and black.  The deep burgundy in their darker feathers is reflected in the rich velvety frame matting.  They grasp a perch that matches the faux wood of the frame.
