About the Artist

Ashley Dietrich holds BFAs in Art History and Studio Art, a minor in Philosophy, and did graduate studies in Biocultural Anthropology and Archaeology. Her artwork is not available in galleries, rather shared directly with the public. She has dedicated much of her work to funding Olive's Place Dove & Pigeon Sanctuary Inc, a nonprofit she founded to provide long-term care for disabled and domestic birds.

Ashley’s work features avian subjects, inspired and informed by her years as a wildlife rehabilitator. She depicts birds naturalistically, yet renders them in an illustrative and symbolic manner – creating an otherworldly environment with gold leafing, embellishments, and ornate backgrounds. Current projects explore anthropomorphism through stylized portraits, which investigate the concept of veneration and encourage the viewer to contemplate the value we place on individual animal lives.

Artwork ships on Tuesdays. I take responsibility for making sure your artwork arrives safely. Art is carefully packaged and you'll be sent tracking upon shipment.

You can request giftwrap (or a note) by emailing canvasdove@gmail.com your request immediately upon ordering. If you want art shipped directly to the recipient, you must check out using their shipping address - and please notify the receiver to expect the package.

Returns

All artwork is represented as accurately as possible, though variations in screens may cause colors to appear different. All dimensions are correct within a half-inch.

Damage/Loss Policy: In the unlikely event of damage, provide photos of the damage to artwork AND box/packaging within 24 hours of delivery. A signed statement of loss is required to file an insurance claim. Damaged art can be exchanged or returned after insurance is filed, and buyers cannot keep artwork if a refund is issued. Theft claims can only be processed if a police report is filed.

Returns for personal reasons: Return requests for personal reasons (does not match decor, change of heart, smaller or larger than expected, etc.) must be submitted within 3 days of delivery. The buyer is responsible for return shipping cost. A 15% fee to cover the original packaging/shipping/insurance expenses will be deducted from the refund, to be issued after artwork is received back in its original condition.
