Galapagos Finch SET OF 4

$ 125.00

Set of four Galapagos Island Finches illustrating adaptive radiation.  They have gold leaf backgrounds and are set in wood frames.  This natural history set was inspired by Darwin's early observations of adaptive radiation in these birds.  Finches on the Galapagos Islands are thought to have originated from a common finch-like ancestor, and evolved into various species occupying different ecological niches.  The diversity of beak shape indicates their specialized skills in foraging for food.
